Farmington Hills Nature Center Hosts Thanksgiving for Nature

Native American storyteller Genot Picor will lead games and songs around the campfire during this Nov. 23 event.

Games, stories and and a special nature craft are all part of the City of Farmington Hills Nature Discovery Center annual "Thanksgiving for Nature" event Nov. 23, 1 p.m.-4 p.m.

Special guest Genot "Winter Elk" Picor will lead Native American games, songs, and storytelling around the campfire.

Participants can also take part in a scavenger hunt, receiving a list of clues and directions that will help them on their quest to find reasons to be thankful for all of nature’s gifts. Those who complete the scavenger hunt will be eligible for a Thanksgiving prize.

Cost is $5 per person and $15 per family. The Nature Center is inside Heritage Park, 24915 Farmington Road. For more information, contact Nature Center Supervisor Ashlie Smith at 248-477-1135 or asmith@fhgov.com.
