Learn Basic Basket Weaving, Make a Gift in Farmington Hills Thursday

The class is part of an Outdoor Skills Workshop series at the Center in Heritage Park.

Learn an ancient skill during a basic basket weaving workshop held Dec. 12, 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the Nature Discovery Center in Farmington Hills.  

A guide will lead you through the process of creating a basket from natural materials, while you spend a relaxing evening with friends and create a great holiday gift. 

The workshop is designed for ages 12 and older, and children must be supervised by an adult. Pre-registration is required at https://recreg.fhgov.com or the Costick Center. A fee of $50 per person covers instruction and all materials.

Basic Basket Weaving is part of the Outdoor Skills Workshop series, which also includes a “Getting to Know the Pines” workshops on Jan. 5, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Jan. 9, 3 p.m.-8 p.m. Participants will explore edible, medicinal, and utilitarian uses for pine trees.
