More than 6,000 Farmington Area DTE Customers Without Power

The majority of customers affected are in southeast and southwest Farmington Hills.

Strong storms that blew through Farmington and Farmington Hills Friday left more than 6,000 DTE Energy customers without power. 

Hardest hit areas are in Farmington Hills between Orchard Lake Road and Inkster, from north of Eight Mile to south of 11 Mile, and a large swath from Halsted to I-275, between Eight Mile and 10 Mile. More than 230 customers are affected in Farmington, south of Grand River and west of Liberty. 

The Detroit Free Press reported Friday night that more than 105,000 DTE Energy customers across metro Detroit lost power. As of 10:30 p.m. Friday, the company had not estimated when power will be restored.
