Register for Literacy Tutor Training Session in Farmington Hills

Tutors will help adult Oakland County residents with basic reading and English language skills.

The Oakland Literacy Council offers training in Farmington Hills Feb. 3 and 5 for volunteers who will tutor students in reading and English language skills. 

The organization provides free literacy instruction to adults who live in Oakland County. The Farmington Hills training will be held at Orchard United Methodist Church. The Rochester Hills Public Library will also host a training Jan. 21 and 23. 

Registration is required for both sessions, which prepare people to teach reading, writing and speaking skills to adults who currently read below the ninth-grade level.

Tutors pay a fee of $20 for their instructional and reference materials.
