Show Thanks for Nature Nov. 22 in Farmington Hills

The Nature Discovery Center in Heritage Park offers an afternoon of Native American games, songs and a scavenger hunt with prizes on Saturday.

Start celebrating Thanksgiving early during the City of Farmington Hills Nature Discovery Center annual "Thanksgiving for Nature" event on Saturday.

Drop by the center in Heritage Park any time between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. for Native American games, songs and storytelling around the campfire with special guest Genot "Winter Elk" Picor.

Participants can also take part in a scavenger hunt, receiving a list of clues and directions that will help them on their quest to find reasons to be thankful for all of nature’s gifts. Those who complete the scavenger hunt will be eligible for a Thanksgiving prize, and kids will make a nature craft to take home.

Cost is $5 per person and $15 per family. The Nature Center is inside Heritage Park, 24915 Farmington Road. For more information, contact Nature Center Supervisor Ashlie Smith at 248-477-1135 or asmith@fhgov.com.
