Slow Ticket Sales Scuttles Snow Ball for Farmington Ice Rink

The silent auction planned as part of the event will be moved online.

An upscale fundraiser for the Riley Park Ice Rink in Farmington, planned Nov. 7 at the Huron River Hunting & Fishing Club, has been cancelled due to lighter than expected ticket sales.

In an email to local media, Farmington Downtown Development Authority director Annette Knowles said that Snow Ball's silent auction will go on, thanks to tremendous support from local businesses. A committee working on funding for the rink plans to reorganize the auction online, and items will be awarded when the rink opens.

Details about the auction will be released at a later date.
