UPDATED: Storm-Related Closings, Cancellations in Farmington, Farmington Hills

School closings, trash pick-up delays and more weather-related news.

A weekend winter storm expected to dump as much as a foot of snow on Farmington and Farmington Hills has led to the following emergency declarations, closings and cancellations:

Farmington Family YMCA is closing early, according to the Y's Facebook page. Evening programs have been cancelled, and the pool will close at 6 p.m. ChildWatch is closed for evening hours.

Farmington city offices are closed Monday.

All Farmington public and private schools will be closed Monday and Tuesday. Oakland Community College Orchard Ridge campus and Wayne State University Oakland campus are closed Monday. 

The cities of Farmington and Farmington Hills have declared snow emergencies. Vehicles need to be off city streets until plows have cleared snow curb-to-curb. 

The Farmington Community Library Main Library and Farmington branch will be closed on Monday. You can renew or reserve books, or borrow ebooks and audio books at farmlib.org.

There will be no trash pick-up on Monday. Collection will be delayed one day, with Monday's pick-up on Tuesday and Friday's on Saturday. 

SMART buses will operate full service on Monday. Visit smartbus.org for information. 

These businesses have made closing announcements on social media:

  • Annette & Company School of Dance will be closed on Monday. 
  • John Cowley & Sons in downtown Farmington closed Sunday. A sign on the door indicated the restaurant will reopen at 11 a.m. on Monday. 
  • Bead Bohemia in downtown Farmington is closed Monday. 
  • Old Navy at 14 Mile and Orchard Lake in Farmington Hills will close at 5 p.m. Monday.
