'Transforming Loss' Documentary Shows Feb. 5 in Farmington Hills

The documentary's stories of grief include that of Gary Weinstein, who lost his family in 2005 to a drunken driving accident.

The grief experiences of several Michigan families are featured in "Transforming Loss", a documentary that will be shown Feb. 5, 7 p.m., at Oakland Community College (OCC) Orchard Ridge campus in Farmington Hills. 

Sponsored by OCC, Farmington SAFE Suicide Prevention Task Force, Michigan School of Professional Psychology, Botsford Hospital and the City of Farmington Hills Dept. of Special Services, the event includes a discussion and dessert following the film showing. 

Among the stories shared in "Transforming Loss," which was produced by Bloomfield Hills resident Judith Burdick, is that of Gary Weinstein, a Farmington Hills resident whose wife and two sons were killed in a drunken driving accident in 2005. 

Free valet parking is available. Tickets are $10 in advance at the Costick Center in Farmington Hills or at recreg.fhgov.com. If they're available, tickets at the door will be $15.
