Water Main Construction on 13 Mile in Farmington Hills Begins Today

The project is tied to the City of Farmington Hills water tower.

Motorists can look for lane closures and other traffic delays starting today on 13 Mile near Drake Road in Farmington Hills, as crews install a 20-inch water main that is part of the city's new water tower project

According to Karen Montora, assistant to the Department of Public Services director, the project is going through the Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner's office and will continue through the end of the year.

There will be temporary single lane closures and limited turns at 13 Mile and Drake Road throughout the project, which is expected to continue through the end of the year, Montora said.

A hotline has been established for residents with concerns, 248-858-1105. An OCWRC representative will be on the site at all times during construction, Montora said.
