When: Saturday at 9:30 a.m.

Why go: When I was younger, food allergies were not as prominent as they are today. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches were a staple in many school lunches, but that is no longer allowed in numerous schools. Many people and parents now fight a battle against food allergies. The Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN) has become one of the most trusted resources for these people. On Saturday, FAAN is hosting a walk to raise public awareness. The goal is to raise $65,000. The two mile walk will happen rain or shine. Besides helping the cause, walkers will have a chance to win some cool raffle prizes. There will also be Minute to Win It games, dancing and a DJ.
