CBS Channels Back on Bright House in Farmington, Farmington Hills

Channels with CBS programming are restored after the network reaches a contract agreement with Time Warner Cable.

An agreement between CBS and Time Warner Cable, reached early Monday evening, has brought CBS programming back to Bright House Cable customers in Farmington and Farmington Hills.

Bright House on Aug. 2 dropped programming on CBS channels in metro Detroit, WWJ (CBS) and WKBD (The CW) in Detroit and Showtime, citing stalled contract negotiations between CBS and Time Warner. Bright House has an arrangement to piggyback on Time Warner contracts.

As a courtesy to customers, Bright House ran other programming on the blacked-out WWJ channel.

The Huffington Post reports that the agreement "includes retransmission fees that the cable operator pays to CBS per subscriber, which had been a sticking point."
