Cultural Concert Series Kicks Off with a Motown Beat

Serieux performs a variety of classic Motown hits at the Farmington Players Barn Sept. 24.

The City of Farmington Hills Cultural Concert Series begins on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 8 p.m., as “The Motown Beat” kicks off a wide selection of musical entertainment at the Theater. 

“The Motown Beat” will feature all the harmonies, energetic choreography, and soul of the famous Motown sound, delivered by Serieux, the group known for regenerating Motown. Their repertoire includes a wide range of songs made famous by The Temptations, The Contours, The Four Tops and more, backed by an ensemble of talented musicians.

Based in Detroit, Serieux was an integral part of the Motown Tribute to The Four Tops, and performs both locally and nationally as representatives of the Motown sound. Special tribute artists will also perform the songs of Tina Turner and Barry White.

The concerts are made possible through a partnership between the City of Farmington Hills and the Farmington Players. The theater is located at 32332 12 Mile Rd.

Other concerts in the series include Three Men and a Tenor on Oct. 28-29, Holiday Brass by The Detroit Chamber Winds (members of the DSO and MOT Orchestras) on Dec. 13, “From Broadway to Hollywood with the MOT” on Jan. 14 and Blackthorn, the area’s perennial Irish favorite, on March 9-10.
