Farmington Community Band Offers Free Concert in Downtown Farmington

The free concert celebrates the close of the musical organization's 47th season.

The Farmington Community Band Concert Band will close out its 2012-2013 season with a classic outdoor summer band concert at the Walter E. Sundquist Farmington Pavilion and Riley Park in downtown Farmington July 29 at 7 p.m.

The 80-piece concert band, under the direction of Damien Crutcher, will perform a program of movie themes, musical theater selections, Americana, and, of course, great Sousa marches.

The concert is presented courtesy of the Farmington Community Band Music Organization, which wraps up its 47th season of entertaining local audiences.

Founded in 1966 by music educators Paul and Fern Barber, the organization includes more than 100 people participating in a variety of wind ensembles. Its ongoing mission promotes public service and a life-long educational opportunity for musicians. Learn more at www.fcbmusic.org.
