Farmington Community Band Starts Spring With a Boom

The band unveils a new bass drum at its "Let It Spring" free concert April 21.

The Farmington Community Band's April 21 free concert ushers in spring with a big boom, thanks to a new bass drum.

“Let It Spring!” begins at 3 p.m. in the Harrison High School auditorium. The 80-piece band, under the direction of Damien Crutcher, is in its 47th season. The bass drum was purchased with money donated from the estate of the late Dr. Al Frank, who was a dedicated member of the band for over 40 years. The concert program is designed to show it off.

After the concert the public is invited to attend a special reception in memory of Dr. Frank, to meet FCB musicians and to see the cool new bass drum up close. Admission is free. Learn more at fcbmusic.org or on the band's Facebook page
