Farmington Hills Church Offers Free Concerts

Nardin Park United Methodist Church's concert series includes a pianist, a Civil War band and a symphony choir.

The 2011-2012 concert series continues Feb. 12, with a performance by concert pianist Pauline Martin.

Seating and a pre-concert reception begin at 1:15 p.m., with a program at 2 p.m. that includes works by Bach, Ravel and Chopin, along with four movements of Franz Schubert's "Sonata in B-flat, D. 960".

On Sunday, March 18, the series continues with The Dodworth Saxhorn Band playing “Songs That Made A Nation, A Civil War Sesquicentennial Commemoration Performance”. Based in Ann Arbor, the 17-member band, dressed in 19th century period costumes, plays music on authentic 150-year-old period instruments.
