Film Lovers Can Help Fund 2014 Farmington Festival

The Greater Farmington Film Festival will feature films that 'engage the heart and mind'.

Seven days remain in a special fundraising drive for a festival that will bring "good films for a better world" to Farmington and Farmington Hills in 2014.

kickstART farmington hosts the Greater Farmington Film Festival March 6-8 at Oakland Community College Orchard Ridge campus in Farmington Hills and the Farmington Civic Theater in downtown Farmington.

According to the organization's website, the event will feature films that "engage the heart and mind, exploring important social issues, and inspiring action rather than simply offering a passive viewing experience."

In June, the nonprofit launched a Power2Give fundraising campaign that is in its last week at power2give.org, a website managed by CultureSource. The professional association represents more than 115 southeast Michigan arts organizations.

Donor benefits for festival donations include everything from name recognition during the event to participation in a screening party to help select the films.
