Metro Jazz Voices Performs in Farmington Hills

Their appearance is a first for the 'Stars in the Park' concert series in Heritage Park.

Metro Jazz Voices will make their first appearance at the "Stars in the Park" free summer concert series at on Thursday, July 28.

Metro Jazz Voices will perform selections that include jazz and beyond—reaching into the realm of popular favorites and rare gems, presented with a sophisticated four-part harmony.

“If I could summarize part of our style, I would say ‘Think Manhattan Transfer’,” Carl Cafagna, the group’s tenor, said.

Recently Metro Jazz Voices performed at the B’Jazz Vespers event in Birmingham, where producer Robert Washburn said, “People did not want the concert to end!”

Metro Jazz Voices is comprised of vocalists Cafagna, Meri Slaven, Nicci Der Stepanian, and Jeremy St. Martin. The group is backed up by instrumentalists Scott Gwinell on piano, Jordan Shug on bass, and Mike Higgins on drums.

The concert starts at 7 p.m. Bring your blanket or lawn chair to Heritage Park, 24915 Farmington Rd. in Farmington Hills. The concert’s rainout site is the , 28600 W. Eleven Mile Rd., Farmington Hills.
