Swinginfusion Farmington Takes over Riley Park

Dancers from around the area combine cool moves and fun times.

Swinginfusion Farmington and Rampage Swing of Ann Arbor rocked the the in downtown Farmington Thursday night.

Swingfuision Farmington hosts swing dances every week in the downtown Farmington area. Over 200 people showed up for Thursday's event, which was open to the community.

“We wanted to bring in a great band like Rampage Swing to give an added exposure to our core audience, many of whom never have had the opportunity to dance to a live band,” said Alexander Steward, DJ and Manager of Swinginfusion Farmington. “Our goal is not only to have a great event for our main audience, but also give an opportunity to the rest of the surrounding area to learn how to swing dance, know that we exist as a place for young adults, and more importantly just have fun.”

Rampage Swing, a nine piece Ann Arbor based band played many swing hits thoughout the night. Rampage Swing debuted in June of 2010 to over one hundred swing dancers at Swing Ann Arbor and since then has continued to play for dancers around the Midwest.

 “This event is truly for all ages.” said Steward “Whether you’re young or old, it’s something that we want the community to enjoy, if it’s through dancing, or just coming out to listen to the great music.”
