Summer Memories Follow Farmington Students to School

Patch rides the bus with children headed to Beechview Elementary School on Tuesday morning.

A small group of Farmington Public Schools students waited anxiously at Orchard Lake Road and Cedar Creek Drive Tuesday morning for buses to arrive and whisk them off to their first day of school.

In addition to reporters, students would ride with Supt. Susan Zurvalec and board member Priscilla Brouillette, who also spoke with parents and staff at Beechview Elementary.

Kindergarten student Vincent Pesci seemed confident as he stepped into the bus that would take him and his brother Dominic, a third grader, to Beechview. Vincent said he was happy to start school, but Dominic shared a sentiment likely felt by many other children:

"I wish summer was longer."
