War of 1812 Commemoration Ceremony

Please join the Farmington Historical Society as we commemorate the bicentennial of the start of the War of 1812. We will be gathering at the flagpoles on the east side of the Walter E. Sundquist Pavilion at 9:00am at the start of our Farmer's Market. Brian Golden, president of the Farmington Historical Society will start the event and introduce David Hales, a resident of Farmington Hills and Commissioner with the Michigan Commission on the War of 1812. He will talk a little about the Commission and Michigan's participation in the War of 1812. We will have a small group of uniformed, local, Boy Scouts lower the 50 star American flag and raise a commemorative 15 star American flag in its place. The singing of the Star Spangled Banner will conclude the ceremony.
