Botsford Hospital Receives Top Safety Rating

Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills has been named among the "Top Hospitals" in the country for providing the safest and highest quality health care services to patients.

The designation was announced by the Leapfrog Group, an independent, national non-profit that surveyed U.S. hospitals to develop a Hospital Safety Score. Of the 2,652 hospitals issued a Hospital Safety Score, 729, including Botsford Hospital, earned an "A," 679 earned a "B," and 1243 earned a "C" or below. 
 
Hospitals were given for the first time this year a letter grade to provide patients vital information to make informed decisions about where to seek care, and take the right precautions during a hospital stay. Utilizing publicly reported data for infections, medication errors and in-patient injuries, hospitals were evaluated for their safety records during 2011.

The Hospital Safety Score website - www.hospitalsafetyscore.org - allows visitors to search hospital scores for free, and also provides information on how the public can protect themselves and loved ones during a hospital stay.
