Downtown Farmington Shoppers Win Wish List Window Prizes

Six lucky winners each spent at least $100 at local stores during the holiday shopping season.

The Farmington Downtown Development Association (DDA) Wish List Window promotion generated more than $60,000 in local sales during the 2011 holiday shopping season.

The contest encouraged shoppers to fill cards that were stamped at participating merchants. After spending $100 in Downtown Farmington to complete their cards, Michaela Bunt, Stella Ojo, Bill Ott, Michelle Siskosky, Kristin Thomas and Kristina Wines were randomly selected as this year’s winners. Each prize package was worth around $550.

In 2010, the promotion resulted in $49,000 spent in downtown Farmington.

“Our community is a strong supporter of our merchants, and we use this program to reward those loyal shoppers and also to gain new customers in downtown Farmington,” DDA events planner Janet Bloom said.

Michele Jakacki and her team at volunteered to create the Wish List Window, which was on display in a Grand River storefront window during the promotion.
