Farmington Hills Chinese Restaurant Featured on Cooking Channel

Family-owned New Mandarin Garden is the subject of Tuesday's 'Restaurant Redemption'.

The Cooking Channel will feature a Farmington Hills restaurant Tuesday, on the show "Restaurant Redemption".

New Mandarin Garden on 13 Mile Road is a family-run Chinese restaurant that is described in the show as struggling, due to conflicts between brothers Garry and Jerry Che. But the brothers told the Detroit Free Press that their troubles were exaggerated for television.

“We had our moments as far as getting along, but never to the point where we would want to split up and sell,” Jerry Che told the newspaper, adding that the restaurant has never been "in danger of closing because of poor sales."
