Farmington Hills Pizzeria Makes Parade Magazine List

Buddy's Pizza is the only Detroit-area entry on the "America's Best Pizzerias" honor roll.

Parade magazine has named Farmington Hills-based  to its "America's Best Pizzerias" honor roll.

The award was announced in Sunday's print magazine and at Parade.com. The description pronounced Buddy's “the home of Detroit’s thick-crust square pizza: the pepperoni is layerd on the bottom to keep it moist. Topping options include carrots, cauliflower and pineapple (sliced or diced).”

No other Detroit area pizzeria made the cut; Parade magazine reaches 32.2 million readers.

Robert Jacobs, owner of Buddy’s Pizza, credits the "great taste" his restaurants have provided for more than six decades.

“I think our pizza is even better today than it was 66 years ago," he said. "We consistently have a desire to honor what Buddy’s Pizza was and a desire to improve. We are always trying to exceed our patron’s expectations.”
