First-Time Business Owner Opens Downtown Farmington Nail Salon

Liliona Garcia said she opened Litito's Nail Salon in Farmington because she loves the area.

Livonia resident Liliona Garcia used to live in Farmington, and when it came time to open her first business, the community was her first choice.

Litito's Nail Salon opened a month ago in the Village Mall at the corner of Farmington Road and Grand River in downtown Farmington. The salon provides manicures, pedicures, waxing, make-up, facials and other services.

"I love this area," said Garcia, who said she trained in Mexico and received her cosmetology license in Michigan. "One day, I just started working doing nails, and here I am."

Litito's stocks Shellac, a gel nail polish that Garcia said dries quickly and lasts at least two weeks without chipping. Clients can select from a range of nail designs, including 3-D and Swarovski crystal features. Waxing isn't limited to eyebrows and facial hair, Garcia said.

"We can do everything ... legs, arms, undearms, face, bikini," she said. Waxing is done in a private room at the back of the shop.
