Freakin' Unbelievable Burgers to Open in Farmington Hills

A Flint restaurant named one of America's "Top Movers & Shakers" expects to open in Farmington Hills in late November. 

Freakin' Unbelievable Burgers parent company Spartan Pastabilities, LLC received approvals for a liquor license transfer and outdoor seating during Monday's Farmington Hills city council meeting.

The company owns seven restaurants in Flint, Saginaw, Lansing, Jackson, Traverse City and Bay City. The Farmington Hills location will be in the former Burger King restaurant on the east side of Orchard Lake Road, just south of 13 Mile Road. 

"We're a casual dining restaurant in a fast-paced environment," said Brent Skaggs, one of the company's six owners, who is listed as the Farmington Hills restaurant's manager. 

Skaggs said the company chose Farmington Hills because "we love this community. Just driving by, there's a great feel to it." 

The restaurant's menu centers around burgers made with certified Angus beef, served on a Detroit-made, brioche-style bun, with a selection of 44 toppings. Skaggs said customers can also choose from ground turkey, grilled chicken and grilled or deep-fried Portobello mushrooms. Sides include french fries, sweet potato fries, fried pickles and fried green beans, among other items. 

According to the company website, Freakin' Unbelievable Burgers' most recent honor includes a 12th place ranking on Fast Casual’s list of “Top 100 Movers & Shakers", announced during the National Restaurant Association’s annual food show. In November 2012, the restaurant was named one of the “Top New Burger Joints of 2012” in North America by BurgerBusiness, a national business publication.
