Holiday Windows to Light Up Downtown Farmington

A contest sponsored by the Farmington Downtown Development Authority offers businesses a chance to win prizes for beautifully decorated windows.

All downtown Farmington businesses and property owners are invited to show how they can attract, surprise and delight holiday shoppers by creating unique holiday-themed windows.

"The downtown shops will really sparkle this holiday. We want you to know Downtown Farmington is the place to be this Christmas!" said Diane Cassidy, owner of Salon Legato, who is assisting with organization of the Farmington Downtown Development Authority (DDA) contest.

What window décor will be judged the “fairest of them all”? We’ll find out on Saturday, Dec. 1 when the winners will be announced and the following prizes will be awarded:

  • First prize is an ad in the Main Street Messenger, a newsletter mailed to 22,000 households in the Farmington/Farmington Hills area with a value of $500.

  • Second prize is a one-year membership (4 employees or less) in the Greater Farmington Area Chamber of Commerce, donated by the Chamber, with a value of $285.

  • Third prize is refreshments for a business owner coffee hour event with a value of $100.

“We extend an invitation to the greater Farmington community to visit our warm, inviting town and to indulge their eyes on the creativity of our businesses. This contest will help make the town really glow,” said Annette Knowles, DDA Executive Director.
