Painting with a Twist Celebrates Grand Opening in Downtown Farmington

Owner Michelle Lewis credits Farmington officials with helping to make her vision a reality.

Wine, snacks and art were all on the menu as Painting with a Twist opened its doors Thursday, in the Downtown Farmington Business Center.

The hosted a ribbon cutting for the business, which offers clients painting lessons, with the opportunity to bring in food and wine. In addition to instruction, the business provides canvases, acrylic paints, brushes, aprons and a work of art for inspiration.

Opening the business took some time, because it required amending the city's liquor ordinances to allow patrons to consume alcohol, even though the business does not have a liquor license.

"Without the City of Farmington, this would have never happened," Thomas said during the Friday ribbon cutting.
