Pets Find New Home During Dubin Cleaners Adoption Event

The Farmington Hills business on Orchard Lake Road plans to host events every year.

The owners of Dubin Cleaners & Laundry in Farmington Hills have adopted pets from Michigan Animal Rescue League and on Sunday opened their parking lot to give area families the same opportunity.

Nine dogs and five kittens waited in cages under the shade of trees behind the business parking lot during the second annual pet adoption event. Sandy Dubin said four dogs were adopted in 2012; at least one found a new home this year.

"We also collect donations, and this provides exposure to the community," she said.

Katherine Ross, who coordinates the League's third party events, said those who wish to adopt have to apply and, once approved, can take home their new best friend. The process takes one to five days, she said.

Dubin said the company expects to continue hosting adoption events annually in June.
