Schoolhouse Montessori Academy Opens This Fall

Schoolhouse Montessori Academy (SMA) is launching its third campus on the site of the former Echo Park Learning Center in Farmington Hills. 

The school, located at 29230 W. Twelve Mile Road, will begin serving toddlers and pre-school-age children this fall. It will add one grade each year, beginning with first grade in 2012, eventually expanding to serve students through sixth grade.

“Families have seen a noticeable transformation of the exterior of the school,” Sherri Roberts, School Director said. “We invite prospective families to tour the school and view the beautiful interior changes and to learn more about the programs available for fall enrollment.”

Renovations include completely refurbished classrooms that have new cabinets, carpeting and flooring — all designed to reflect the beauty, peace and calm of the Schoolhouse Montessori environment. The building’s exterior, lobby and office walls were updated with warm colors and a stone facade.

“Our parents say Schoolhouse Montessori feels like a peaceful, loving home — and that’s entirely by design,” Tyla Wells, founder of Schoolhouse Montessori Academies, said.  “We create schools that wrap children in warmth and inspire them to explore and learn.”

The new location will accommodate students between the ages of 18 months and six years old during its first year. Parents can enroll their children as full-time students or part-time students. Wells said she is already receiving a high volume of calls from interested families within the community.

Schoolhouse Montessori Academy has other two campuses in Troy and in Canton.
