Sellers Buick GMC Celebrates Automotive News Honor

Owner Sam Slaughter says the award for being a top workplace makes him the most proud.

Sellers Buick GMC employees gathered at the Farmington Hills dealership Tuesday night, to celebrate the company being honored among the top 100 American dealerships to work for, according to Automotive News.

"There's a lot of things we're good at ... but this award is the one that makes me the most proud," Slaughter said, adding this is the second time the company has made the top 100 list.

The list was announced earlier this year, but the company didn't learn its ranking until Oct. 17, at a gala event attended by owner Sam Slaughter and his wife, Anne.

Slaughter said comments from employees show why the company received the award.

"What really came through in the comments is it's team work, it's we help each other, it's people really care about each other, and that's not me, it's you," he said. "And I'm telling you, this does not happen in every company."

Employees surprised Slaughter with a video tribute, as well as a wall hanging that includes words that employees used in the tribute to describe their boss.
