Baker Tilly Announces New Hires

Southfield, MICH., January 9, 2014 -- The Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP, Michigan office is proud to welcome eight new employees to its team. The announcement was made by Managing Partner Alan Whitman. They include: Shawn Fallon, Boyo N. Antabong, Matthew Howard, Holly D. Zimmerman, Matthew Wells, Richard King, Amy Minielly and Cindy Maciejewski.

Shawn Fallon has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from Eastern Michigan University. In her current role as Senior Accountant, she provides tax compliance, advisory services as well as tax planning for corporate and individual clients. Previously, she worked as the Senior Staff Accountant at UHY Advisors. Fallon has a daughter, enjoys softball, bicycling and lives in Redford Township.

Boyo N. Antabong, CPA has a bachelor’s degree in Science from the University of Detroit Mercy. In his current role as the Senior Accountant - International Tax, he manages international tax and research. Prior to joining Baker Tilly, he was the Senior Accountant-International at Pricewaterhouse Coopers. Antabong is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA). Antabong is married, has two small children and lives in Southfield.

Matthew Howard has a bachelor’s degree in Finance and master’s in Accounting from Michigan State University. In his current role as Tax Manager, he works closely with clients to provide tax saving strategies and comply with government relations. Howard previously worked for Baker Tilly from 2007 to 2012; after a brief tenure with Central Transport as the Tax Manager – he returned to Baker Tilly in 2013. He is a member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA), enjoys baking, a game of golf and lives in Farmington Hills.

Holly D. Zimmerman has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Walsh College. In her new role as Audit Manager, she plans and manages audits. She also reviews compilation engagements for entities including manufacturing, not for profit, construction and real estate. Prior to joining Baker Tilly, she was an Audit Manager at Doeren Mayhew. Zimmerman is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA). She is married with four small children and resides in Farmington.

Matthew Wells has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Christian Clearwater College and a Masters in Taxation from Arizona State University. In his current role with Baker Tilly he serves as a Tax Associate. Wells is a member of the American Latin Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA). In his spare time, he enjoys basketball, a game of golf and resides in Allen Park.

Richard King has a bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) in Accounting from Central Michigan University. In his new role at Baker Tilly, he serves as the Staff Accountant. He was previously the manager at Huntmore Golf Course. King received the Distinguished Citizen Award through the Michigan State Police. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, travel and snowboarding. King resides in Milford.

Amy Minielly attended Oakland University and provides office support in her new role as the administrative assistant. She provides assistance with human resources as it relates to campus recruiting and on-boarding. She also assists with marketing and internal services. In her spare time, she enjoys photography. Minielly resides in Novi.

Cindy Maciejewski provides office support in her new role as the administrative assistant. Prior to joining Baker Tilly, Maciejewski worked as an administrative assistant for the American Cancer Society. In her spare time, she enjoys sporting events, concerts and resides in Troy.
