Family practice physician Liza J. Weathersby, M.D., joins Botsford Hospital medical staff
Liza J. Weathersby, M.D., has joined the medical staff at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills. Dr. Weathersby, board-certified in family practice, now sees patients at the hospital-owned Botsford Medical Center located at 15540 Beech Daly Road in Redford, phone (313)387-5253.
After graduating from Wayne State University Medical School in Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Weathersby completed a three-year family practice residency at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, Michigan.
Prior to coming to Botsford, Dr. Weathersby served as lead physician for the Hamilton Community Health Network in Flint, Michigan, which provides health care services to the underserved in Genesee County, Michigan. Her experience also includes several work and volunteer positions that serve the disadvantaged: being a group leader at the Wayne County 4-H Community Center in Detroit, giving motivational speeches to young people at the King-Parks-Chevaz Program in Detroit, delivering Meals On Wheels to shut-in senior citizens, volunteer tutoring in math at the Detroit Boys and Girls Club, serving as a volunteer physician delivering basic medical services to an indigent population at the Cass Clinic in Detroit, and lecturing Detroit Public high school students about the risk of AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases.
Dr. Weathersby is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Detroit Medical Society, the American Medical Association, and the Michigan State Medical Society.
