Florine Mark’s 14th annual ReMarkable Women charity event raises about $40,000

Florine Mark’s 14th annual ReMarkable Women Live! charity luncheon, held at The Henry in Dearborn on Oct. 14, netted about $40,000. Net proceeds will locally benefit the University of Michigan Cardiovascular Center, Ministrelli Women’s Heart Center at Beaumont and Florine Mark’s Inpatient Unit for Women’s and Children’s Health at Henry Ford Hospital – West Bloomfield.
Mark, who hosts the annual charity event, is President and CEO of Weight Watchers Group, headquartered in Farmington Hills, MI.
Over 600 attendees showed up to hear from nationally-known keynote speakers Deborah Norville, anchor of Inside Edition, and Judy Girard, President Emeritus of HGTV and Food Network. Mark will make donations to Norville’s and Girard’s charities of choice in lieu of speaker fees.
Other local celebrities - Ruth Spencer, Channel 4 anchor and consumer’s reporter; Glenda Lewis, Channel 7 news reporter; Deena Centofanti, FOX 2 news co-anchor and health reporter; Rochelle Riley, Detroit Free Press columnist; and Doni Flynn, on-air talent at FRESH 100.3 – were also involved in the festivities.
Live music was provided by The Ladeez of Detroit. Plans are already underway for next year’s event.
