Ophthalmologist Stephen M. Tait, M.D., Ph.D., joins Botsford Hospital medical staff

Stephen M. Tait, M.D., Ph.D., has joined the medical staff at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills. This board-certified ophthalmologist practices at Bergman Poretta Eye Center located at 29990 Northwestern Hwy. in Farmington Hills. For more information, go to http://www.bergmanporretta.com/
 
Dr. Tait specializes in surgical correction and medical treatment of eye diseases, including cataracts, refractive surgeries---LASIK, LASEK, epi-LASIK, iLASIK---wet macular degeneration, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy. 
 
Dr. Tait received his Ph.D. in physiology from Michigan State University and his medical degree from MSU's College of Human Medicine. His Ph.D. research focused on the precursors of drugs currently used to treat wet macular degeneration. This research earned Dr. Tait the Young Investigator's Award from a leading research society and publication in the American Journal of Physiology. During medical school, he was awarded the Paul C. Linnell, M.D. Scholarship for his demonstrated capacity to achieve educational and professional goals. Dr. Tait completed his post-graduate clinical training at William Beaumont Hospital-Royal Oak. 
 
Dr. Tait is a fellow in the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
