Thoracic surgeon David I. Sternberg, M.D., joins Botsford Hospital medical staff

David I. Sternberg, M.D., a 2012 Hour Detroit magazine Top Doc, has joined the medical staff at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills. A board-certified thoracic surgeon, he is now a part of the specialty physician team at the Botsford Cancer Center. Dr. Sternberg is a member of Michigan Healthcare Professionals, PC. His office in the Botsford Cancer Center is located at 27900 Grand River Avenue, Suite 220, Farmington Hills, MI, phone (248) 477-0552. 
 
After graduating from New York University School of Medicine with honors conferred in biomedical research, Dr. Sternberg served his general surgical residency at Columbia University Medical Center, New York. Then, he completed a two-year fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at Cornell University Medical Center and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital in New York. 
 
Dr. Sternberg comes to Botsford from Henry Ford Health System where he served as an attending cardiothoracic surgeon and associate surgical director of the Lung Transplant Program. At Botsford, Dr. Sternberg's focus will be offering minimally invasive surgical therapy for cancer patients.

As principal investigator and co-investigator, Dr. Sternberg has been involved in numerous clinical research projects and is widely published in peer-reviewed medical journals.
