Trauma surgeon Kelly Ann Dinnan, D.O., joins Botsford Hospital as Surgical ICU medical director

Kelly Ann Dinnan, D.O., has joined the medical staff at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills and now serves as the hospital's medical director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit. This board-certified general surgeon also has become a member of Oakland Surgical Specialists. This practice is located on the hospital's campus in the Professional Center North, Suite 208 North, 28080 Grand River Avenue, Farmington Hills, MI, (248) 471-8030. 
 
Surgical Intensive Care refers to critical care of surgical patients, providing specialized, intensive care and treatment to people who are critically injured. Botsford's SICU also provides close monitoring of patients whose conditions are unstable and unpredictable. This unit cares for patients requiring specialized pulmonary, renal, cardiovascular, neurological, or post-operative monitoring. Earlier this year, Botsford Hospital received a three-year reverification as a Level II Trauma Center by the Committee on Trauma of the American College of Surgeons. 
 
After graduating from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, Dr. Dinnan served her general surgery residency at Botsford Hospital. During this time she distinguished herself by serving as resident director for the Trauma Committee, as chief resident, and as chief surgery resident. Dr. Dinnan was also selected as Botsford's most outstanding resident. Then, she completed two one-year fellowships in surgical critical care and acute care surgery at University of California San Francisco-Fresno. 
 
In addition to having earned a certificate in acute care surgery, Dr. Dinnan is board-eligible for surgical critical care. She is also certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Dr. Dinnan is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, the American Osteopathic Association, and the Michigan Osteopathic Association.
