Children Artists Celebrated with Holiday Cards

Big Family of Michigan, a nonprofit agency that supports children in Michigan’s foster care system, held an Art Competition for foster children.  The organization promoted the contest through individual agencies and at the annual Adoption Festival in September. The organization received dozens of artistic works – all representing the theme HAPPINESS IS…!

Children in age groups 4-6, 7-10, 11-14, and 15-18 were encouraged to enter the contest.  Two winners were chosen in each age group, one boy and one girl.  The winners received a t-shirt and an invitation to a private party with Big Family of Michigan.  All entries are now on display at the Big Family of Michigan warehouse in Fraser.

In addition, five of the pieces have been made into holiday cards.  The cards are available to the public and retail for $15 for a package of 20 cards (or 2 for $25).  The proceeds from the card sales will support Big Family of Michigan’s promotion of foster children in Michigan.
