EMERGING SECTORS® CUP GOLF CHALLENGE

An all-star cast of sports celebrities will join golfers in this year’s Emerging Sectors® Cup Golf event on Friday, August 8. The outing, hosted by the Pontiac Regional Chamber inspires business collaboration and playful competition.  Partial proceeds from this year’s event will also benefit CARE House of Oakland County, a nonprofit organization working to ensure that all children are free of abuse and neglect (www.carehouse.org).

“We are hoping to engage the business community by promoting conversation and collaboration during the golf challenge,” said Dawnaree Demrose, President of the Pontiac Regional Chamber. “With the addition of our special celebrity guests, we are looking forward to attracting a large number of participants.  It is the perfect opportunity to meet decision makers and discuss ideas and opportunities to further economic stability in our county.”

The morning will begin with a welcome from Oakland County Executive Director L. Brooks Patterson. Mr. Patterson plans to share highlights of Oakland County’s Emerging Sectors® initiative. This program is a business development initiative of the Oakland County executive. Emerging Sectors® identifies the top growth sectors and fosters business development in areas including: Communication & Information Technology; Medical Main Street; Film & Digital Media; Defense & Homeland Security; and others.  As the Pontiac Regional Chamber continues its mission of leading, connecting and innovating throughout Oakland County, the organization is spotlighting the opportunities recognized by the Emerging Sectors® program during this year’s annual golf event.
