5 Things You Should Know This Weekend - Jan. 27-29, 2012

The weekend brings snow and some fun activities in Farmington and Farmington Hills.

Expect some snow this weekend, but don't let it keep you from taking in these activities in Farmington and Farmington Hills: 

1. The weather

Snow is back in the forecast, with an inch or two of accumulation expected over the weekend. The National Weather Service predicts highs in the 30s and lows in the mid- to upper 20s tonight and Saturday, then dipping to around 19 Sunday night.

You've got three more chances to see this delightful musical, presented by the theater program: tonight and Saturday, 7:30 p.m.; and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $12, $10 for students and seniors. Advance ticket purchases are recommended; call 248-888-6274.  for more information.

The offers this free program, led by physical occupational therapists from Oakland County Early On. Enjoy the songs and rhymes and meet other parents in the library auditorium at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. No registration is required.

A clown, balloons and story time are all part of children's day at the Old Winery Farmers Market in Farmington on Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Farmington Community Library will host a story hour at 10 a.m., the offers a wildlife activity from 10 a.m. to noon and an emergency services worker will be there to talk with the children about safety. Even the weekly market basket give away will be geared towards children.

Three downtown Farmington establishments offer weekend music. Contact the venues for more information:
