5 Things You Should Know This Weekend - Nov. 11-13, 2011

From a walk with a doc to a visit from Santa, it's a busy weekend in Farmington and Farmington Hills.

Today, we thank all of our local veterans and service members who have served our country with honor. Here's what you should know about today and the weekend ahead:

1. The weather

The sun shines on Farmington and Farmington Hills today and tomorrow, but the National Weather Service is predicting a 40 percent chance of rain throughout the day and night on Sunday. Daytime temperatures will range from the mid-40s to the mid-50s, and night-time lows dip in to the mid-30s and mid-40s.

2. Veterans Day

City offices in and remain open today, as do both branches of the . But banks are closed, as are post office branches in and . There's a big for all veterans at the today; it starts with a color guard at 11 a.m.

5. Santa Makes an Early Visit to Farmington Hills

Are you ready for this? Santa's going to stop by Saturday's at the in Farmington Hills. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., you'll find food, imports, music and more. Expect to see the Jolly Old Elf around 2 p.m. Admission is $1.
