5 Things You Should Know This Weekend - Nov. 25-27, 2011

Could be the biggest shopping day of the year today:

1. The weather

We'll see more of the sun today, but heavy precipitation – including snow – is expected Saturday and Sunday. The National Weather Service predicts highs in the upper 50s today and Saturday, and around 44 on Sunday. Lows this weekend will range from around 46 tonight to the low 30s on Sunday. 

2. Shopping traffic

If you're a mall shopper – or you're going to be driving in areas near a mall – before you head out this weekend. We've got maps for Twelve Oaks in Novi, Somerset and Oakland Malls in Troy.

Children ages 3 to 5, their favorite adults and even siblings are welcome to participate in this activity at the Farmington Community Library Main Library today at 10:30 a.m. There'll be songs, rhymes and activities.

5. Look ahead:

All high school students of any grade are invited to join the Mayor's Youth Council for a City Wide Finals Study Session on Monday, 6 p.m., at the in Farmington Hills. Study for finals, AP classes, the ACT and SAT tests. The Mayor's Youth Council will be partnering with Club Z, a local tutoring agency, to provide help and study tips for students, and there'll be free food.
