5 Things You Should Know This Weekend—Sept. 16-18, 2011

Lots of activities are going on under sunny skies this weekend.

The forecast for this weekend is sunny, mostly sunny and more sunny —which is good, because there's a lot going on:

If you like the sun and mild temperatures, this weekend looks perfect. Look for highs in the 60s and low 70s through Sunday, with nighttime lows ranging from 44 tonight to 57 on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

Chow down at these weekend events:

  • , featuring lobster, shrimp and—of course—clams, Friday at 6 p.m., at . Cost is $22 per person; tickets at the door.
  • , to cover repair costs at , Saturday, 9 a.m. Cost is a free-will donation.

4. Family events

Bring your child to at the Friday at 10:30 a.m. For ages 3-5; admission is free.

Farmington Area Moms Club holds its Friday at in Farmington, from 5:30-9 p.m. Admission $1.

Check in to at every Friday at 5:30 p.m. and enjoy some good old-fashioned fun. Includes a cup of cider and marshmallow roasting, for ages 3 and older. Admission $8 residents, $10 nonresidents.

Join Farmington and Farmington Hills' state representative, Vicki Barnett (D-Farmington Hills) for coffee and conversation, 10 a.m. Saturday, at restaurant in Farmington Hills. She'll talk about what's happening in Lansing now that legislators are back in session.
