After a rainy weekend, the sun will shine on today's activities.

It's the start of a new week in Farmington and Farmington Hills, one you can start by giving the gift of life:

If you're interested in running for office in or , you have until Tuesday to turn in your signed petitions to your city clerk's office. In the Farmington, you have the option of paying a $100 fee in lieu of petitions.

There's a critical need for blood and blood products, and you can help today at the . Stop by between 1-7 p.m. to donate if you are 17 or older (or 16 with a parent's permission), in good health and at weigh least 110 pounds. Other restrictions apply; check the American Red Cross website.

The agenda includes resolutions to establish a Grand River Corridor Improvement Authority, submit a bid to purchase land through the county treasurer’s tax reversion process and appoint members of the Governor Warner Mansion board of directors, among other items.
