5 Things You Should Know Today - Aug. 15, 2012

The Queen of Hearts Raffle sponsored by the Farmington Rotary and Xemplar clubs is heating up, with a jackpot climbing into five figures.

Where can you buy a chance to win a jackpot that is climbing over $10,000, while helping out two local civic groups? Read on: 

1. The weather

Looks like we'll have a sunny day with temperatures in the 80s. The National Weather Service predicts a 30 percent chance of showers after 2 a.m. tonight, and a low in the mid-60s. 

2. Political groups postpone meetings

The Farmington/Farmington Hills Democratic Club and the Farmington Area Republicans have both cancelled their regularly scheduled meetings tonight and will meet again on Sept. 19. 


The Farmington Rotary and Xemplar Clubs are selling tickets for this event, and there has never been a better time to buy one. The jackpot is expected to climb over $10,000 this week.
