As summer begins winding down, this first, full week of August starts with a chance to learn whether your dog would make a good pet therapy dog.

5. Look ahead:

The church's last concert of the summer has a fitting theme: "Live, Laugh, Love". Vocalist Kathy Gibson is described by reviewers as "an uncommonly diverse singerand a talent reminiscent of "Helen O'Connell, Ella Fitzgerald or Marion Hutton". The concert is free, but donations to keep the series going will be accepted. Doors open at 7 p.m., the concert begins at 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
