From a noisy carnival to a soft, acoustic concert, there's plenty to do tonight in Farmington and Farmington Hills.

Whether your tastes run toward the lights and excitement of a carnival, or the quiet enjoyment of great music, you'll find something fun to do tonight in Farmington and Farmington Hills:

1. The weather

We've got clear skies and smooth sailing with a high around 82 degrees today, according to the National Weather Service. And you can keep those windows open tonight; temps in the mid-60s should make it a comfortable evening.

The Wade Shows midway opens up at 5 p.m. tonight in , but that's not all the fun at this year's City of Farmington Hills Family Fun Fest. There's also a petting zoo, pony rides and other free entertainment. Admission and parking are free; visit wadeshows.com to download a coupon for discounts on the $18 unlimited ride wristband ($14 Thursday/Friday, $16 Saturday/Sunday).

3. Stitch 'n' Bitch at

With renewed energy, "the little bookstore that could" is hosting its weekly free gathering for knitters and other hand-crafters tonight at 6 p.m. . You'll find OTBP tucked into a corner of an office complex at 23023 Orchard Lake Rd. Once you pull into the parking lot, you'll see the big sign on the building.

The City of Farmington Hills Stars in the Park free summer concert series continues tonight with the jazzy, swing sounds of this unique band from Ann Arbor. From what we've been able to learn, no one is named Moe – and not every band member is a guy. Want to learn more? The concert starts at 7 p.m. at the amphitheater, or the , if it rains.
