5 Things You Should Know Today - Dec. 8, 2011

Three high schools have activities going on today that are open to the community.

Farmington, Harrison and North Farmington High Schools all have something happening on today's list:

1. The weather

We may well have snow again today. The National Weather Service predicts a 30 percent chance today and a 50 percent chance tonight. Look for a high of 36 and low of 26.

2.

Drop by the school, located on Shiawassee in Farmington, any time between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., if you can spare a pint of blood. The American Red Cross blood drive is sponsored by the school's medical students. The drive is being held in the instrumental music room.

Interested in helping Harrison's music program? Have dinner at Olga's Kitchen and shop at Barnes & Noble on Orchard Lake Rd. in West Bloomfield tonight. Check our event listing for PDF vouchers you can print and take with you for discounts and to ensure your purchases are credited to the school. Harrison musicians will also be performing at Barnes & Noble tonight.

4.

All of those attending tonight's concert, which starts at 7:30 p.m., are asked to bring an item (or cash) as a gift donation families adopted by North choir groups:
