5 Things You Should Know Today - Jan. 11, 2012

Another Farmington Hills restaurant is closed, but the Farmington Civic Theater will be open extra hours on Monday.

We've got good news and bad news today: 

1. The weather

While today will bring partly sunny skies and a high around 47 degrees, look for the clouds to gather and a 40 percent chance of showers tonight. The National Weather Service predicts a low of 34 tonight – and a 70 percent chance of rain and snow on Thursday. 

2. MLK Day movies

The has announced special movie times for Monday, Jan. 16, when schools and government offices will be closed for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The day will begin at 10:45 a.m., with the animated comedy, Happy Feet Two (PG). Throughout the day, Tower Heist (PG-13) with Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy, four-time Golden Globe award nominee Moneyball (PG-13) and Greek mythology action movie, Immortals (R) will be shown. 3. Pei Wei restaurant closes

The sign is down and the windows are dark at Pei Wei in Hunter's Square at Orchard Lake Rd. and 14 Mile in Farmington Hills, and the restaurant is no longer listed on the corporate website. The diner featured Asian foods, and those who were fans will find a nearby location at .

Just announced on their Facebook page: The Saturday market, open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Old Winery/Powerhouse building in Farmington, welcomes Chef Randy from Destiny Catering doing demos and tastings from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Visit theoldwinerymarket.com for a list of vendors and to keep up with their activities.
