5 Things You Should Know Today - Jan. 24, 2012

It looks like skies are clearing in time for a day filled with activities in Farmington and Farmington Hills. Here's what you should know:
1. The weather
There's a slight chance of flurries today under cloudy skies, with a high around 34. The National Weather Service predicts a low around 23 tonight.
2. No-Fault Town Hall
State Rep. Vicki Barnett (D-37th District) will host a Town Hall at 7 p.m. today on proposed changes to the state's no-fault auto insurance program. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with a panel of speakers who are experts on the issue. The meeting will be held at .

3. Farmington School Board meets
The board's regular meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. in the in Farmington, preceded by a 6 p.m. meeting with the Community Relations committee. Both are open to the public; the complete agenda is posted with the event listing.
4. Register to vote in February primary
January 30 is the last day to register if you wish to vote in the Feb. 28 primary election in Farmington and Farmington Hills. The election is a closed primary; voters must select either a Democratic or Republican ballot. Absentee voters must specify the type of ballot or ballot delivery will be delayed until that information is provided. 5. Look ahead:
Adults ages 50 and older are invited to join the longest running group in the City of Farmington Hills senior adult program, which meets Wednesdays at 1 p.m. The group does not provide formal instruction, but members of the Farmington Artist Club attend to help offer tips, guidance, and suggestions.
